Do I need to clean my carpets?

Saturday 11 February 2017

Recently I decided to give them a little clean to see what 12 months of usage had done.  I was extremely surprised at the condition of water that was extracted from the carpet.

However I am very pleased that knowing that they have had a deep clean and I'm not just walking piling up the dirt in them.  Have a look at the video below to see for yourself.

The state of that water was only from a one square metre section.  The carpet looked quite clean on the surface, but beneath the surface clearly was a different world.  Another benefit of having carpets cleaned every 6 to 12 months (depending on usage) is that they will last longer.  Soiling gets worn into the fibres of the carpet, deep down.  As the carpet is walked on repeatably this soiling rubs against the fibres, essentially working similar to sandpaper.  This reason alone will have me cleaning our main walkway carpets, probably every 6 to 12 months.  I can be assured then that they will be properly clean and hygienic.  The main solution I use is called, M-Power, and it is detergent free and is capable of killing of bacteria.  This takes place, even as I use cold water to rinse the carpet.

Check in next week for another post.  As I will officially be launching on  Monday 15th May...not long to go...I will be posting a brief summary of my cleaning process, so you the customer, can have a good idea of how much care will be taken with your beautiful carpets.
